Title: Custom stock made for S400
Post by: stockmaker on March 11, 2008, 20:53:41 PM
Hi all,

For those who would like to see the custom made stock for the S400, here are some photos showing details of the thumbhole, cheeckpiece, forend design, diamond checkering, etc. Made from selected American Walnut and oil finished. This stock is now used in a field target range in Cardiff, Wales.

Beautiful work, Stockmaker!!!!   I have so many 'projects' that need your magic touch!! Its a shame that living on a small island such as ours does not permit you to turn to full time professionalism and have your brand name compete with the other big stock makers of Europe, but the local turnover is too small to justify full time work.

Keep it up.  There may be some who can 'fit' a stock already made, but none that I know of who can start a new stock from a block of wood.

Keep it up!!!!

Proset stockmaker. Very fine piece of work there! I always have been fascinated to stock checkering. Do you do it by using checkering tools or a checkering machine? Keep it up!  ;)
