  Local gun refinishing
« on: June 14, 2011, 12:09:18 PM » by LongShanks
Hi all,

Should a poly-coated ( or similar finish ) gun get scratched , nicked , chipped or in need for some custom re-work,  is there a local solution to refinishing with finishes like Durakote or the like ??

Regards

Don't have an answer to your question, but I have often considered the possibility of that happening and in my case (CZ75) I would be inclined to remove all the finish, highly polish the metal, and have it blued  Smiley

Very yummy with the Cocobolo grips it is now wearing  Wink

Not that it matters much to function or safety but my Shadow is beginning to show some wear, and a couple of chips. I thought it might be nice to know I can refinish it someday , probably not cheaply. I think its cheaper than selling and re-buying something else, and I grow fond of my stuff anyway.

Plus there is the option of alternate finishes , for example a Duo-tone shadow, like the one by CZcustom Usa ! ... something like this...

You might be pleased to know that the silver polycoat/blued duo tone finish for the Shadow is also a factory option from this year.
